said at the end of that sentence but i don't think he knows what he said either. >> brian: right. we don't. still don't. last night's debate was a disaster disaster for biden. disaster with the democratic party. disaster for america. to see the president of the united states crumble on live television is a site no american should have to endure but we did. rather than take the warning signs of biden's declining. they mocked the motion that biden is no longer fit for office. we have been bringing it up. they assumed for any reasoning it was impossible for donald trump to come out on top in this big debate. >> it's a damn shame that donald trump won't submit to this. because he is such a coward when it comes to politics. but it would be great to have joe biden right there, donald trump right there, around any table and say there is no shouting. we're going to ask you about policy. there is no comparison between donald trump and joe biden when it comes to knowing the facts

that i wonder what you think. >> watch me; honest to god that's all i think. watch me if you think i don't have the energy level, mental acuity, then, you know, that's one thing. joe we watched. are you watching? do you have a vcr in your house. joining us now is missouri senator eric. what changed today? a lot happened? >> people have come to the realization if they weren't paying attention or watching news channels where they werenning lied to that that contrast was very clear. i was down in hot atlanta last night and holding room of surrogates before we went to the spin room and watched all together and experienced that the same way the american people did in their living rooms, and there is three big takeaways, brian. the first is president trump performed exceptionally well. he was on point. he was focused.

he talked about policy. he also gave optimistic vision for the future. gave hope what could come. making america great again. the second take away the historically terrible performance by joe biden and i kept thinking to myself and i turned to j.d. vance actually said. this if you think this is bad now and was terrible. can you imagine what he would be like in four years? that's what he is asking the american people to give him. the third take away, brian, the vale has been lifted. it was illuminating in the sense in the people that have been casting this allusion that biden is at the top of the game same people who lied about the hunter biden laptop. same people said these aren't political prosecutions. same people tell you your life is fine, economy is great. even though there is sticker shock every day and week at the grocery store and more expensive to buy a home. they have been exposed now as sort of just carrying on this regime narrative and donald trump is the disrupter who can break up this cartel of

permanent washington made a habit of lying to people and telling them not to believe their lying eyes. >> brian: it's different. this morning i get up alert thomas freidman "new york times." joe, he was welling up in lisbon. who wouldn't. watching this debate. thinks he should leave. same thing with chris standoff. same thing, he thinks he should leave. the editorial board of the "new york times." time to step aside. that's a little different than someone like donald trump saying he is not worthy or he can't do the job. for sure. >> i will tell you the puppet master barack obama issued a decree joe biden is staying in. guess what joe biden is staying in. the people who get power through this figure head presidency, they are not letting him go. they are going to ride this thing out. but i think what became clear last night was the contrast. not just in policy. so for the first time in i anybody's lifetime. compare two presidential records people run for office that won't

happen. it wasn't televised a great economy for working families, energy dominance secure border. also the two men on that stage and their capabilities and their command to hold the most important office in the world and so, it happened last night. trump was the big winner. i think they are going through different stages of grief on the democrat side right now. >> brian: i saw barack obama with john mccain in 2008. he got. -- excuse me, yeah, joe biden got 4 points after donald trump debated him in the first debate. what do you think president trump is going to get from this debate by almost 4 to 1 margin people said he did better. he won this thing. what do you think it's going to mean in the polls? >> i think pretty dramatic. listen, these are inescapable relates, brian that aren't going to change. mental acuity is not going to get any better. the situation at the border is not getting any better. every week a story of some young woman getting raped or murdered. these things are not getting

better. inflation is cumulative. all the things that work against joe biden aren't going to get better. people are going to be left with that image that they saw in this nationally televised presidential debate of joe biden being confused. and i think it's just timing to take the keys away. >> brian: clyburn ran to his side today. steny hoyer ran to his side. various congress people. other people just ran away when our cameras showed up. senator, thank you so much. have great weekend. >> is there a part of you that is worried about his age and health? can he do it? >> he can do it. and i see joe every day i see him out traveling around this country. i see his vigor and energy and passion every single day. >> brian: really. just not yesterday or last night. of all the enablers in president biden's orbit none is worse in my view than his wife, dr. jill. the person who is with joe biden more than anyone else you just heard her who has a deeper more intimate knowledge of declining

position than anyone else. she has been engaged in egregious cover-up. you watched how desperate she was in the pancake house, excuse me the waffle house as well as on the stump today introducing her husband. instead of convincing her husband to bow out of the race or inform the public that her husband is in decline, she covers for him. >> this election is not about age. you have two choices. you have my husband, joe, who you all know who has integrity. he is strong. he's steady, is he a leader. is he smart, he is energetic, or you have chaos joe isn't one of the most persons examined because in spite of his age but because of it after last night's debate she shows no signs of letting up. joe, did you such a great job. you answered all the questions. you knew all the facts. >> there is no one i would

rather have sitting in the oval office right now than my husband. what you saw. exactly as well. anita dunn, barack obama. what is being done to revive this guy. they are complicit in the destruction of our nation. we have a military. we have conflicts. we have a border. we have crime. and we don't have a president. the question i keep getting asked from everybody i know pete, who is the president? who is the president? we don't know who the president is right now. and when you are the world's top republican charged with leading the world. that's really important and jill biden has responsibility. she is completely abdicated. imagine if you just finished that first interview. brian, that was so good. you asked all the questions. you did great. that's what we're up against right now people say isn't that nancy reagan helping ronald reagan she watched his back. she didn't lead. jill biden seems to be leading for this. she is leading him. i wonder is she forcing him. he doesn't seem like he wants to jump up there and grab the microphone.

>> pete: he is also stubborn. enabler right next to him who you said loves the spotlight and loves the power. a big problem. >> brian: maybe look at medical profession. cnn calling for more information on joe's medical condition. watch. >> can president biden come back after his performance last night? >> it all depends on this key question. what is last night a bad night or was it evidence of something more troubling about the president? only biden family and his doctors could tell us. >> pete: this is bat news for america because this guy is president for the next six to seven months. the world is on fire. what has cascaded since good for donald trump and america. they are digging heels in defending this guy. donors and politicians come out. barack obama come out. joe is digging his heels in. and jill is digging her heels.

in good for the guy on the screen. i-agree with the senator said first. donald trump had a phenomenal debated. weighs measured. prepared, succinct, he went back to elle to. he didn't take the bait where he could have. he did one place with the golf game. can't let that go. >> brian: this was the most bizarre exchange. >> pete: let's not be children here. he had the backs of the military in clear ways when joe biden said what -- the women are getting impregnated by his sister. he was saying nonsense. and donald trump held back and let him talk and he collapsed. it was masterpiece. >> brian: i'm already a little bit over. president biden said nobody died under his watch. did he forget about abby gate. the 13 who died and 16 total? >> of course he did. >> brian: how many people he left behind in afghanistan. >> pete: those dead and injured. when donald trump said no one was held accountable, that was one of the most powerful moments of the debate. >> brian: general should have been fired. >> absolutely. >> he didn't listener to the generals. shut should have put the stars down when the general didn't listen.

seems to be the executive branch and also garland undermining our constitutional authorities and us being treated as equal branches of government. second thing very likely we have a constitutional crisis on our hand. commander-in-chief is not coherent and mentally sound and as someone that is supposed to uphold and defend the constitution, my republican colleagues are very aware that that is our responsibility and that joe biden seems to have the cognitive issue. so it is imperative that we do not let time laps and we obtain those tapes. and so what i will say is that most recently today we announced that the speaker is actually backing my newest rendition of this contempt resolution which we will find $10,000 a day that garland will have to personally pay if he is going to bury these tapes. and what i will tell you is it is very likely given the nature and development that if biden is not we moved by his own cabinet

25th amendment. garland will resign over. this no way is he competent and you saw that last night. >> brian: four years took documents and expose to anyone borrow his car or go into his basem*nt. the only reason he wasn't prosecuted because robert hur said he wasn't confident e we forget that remember when biden said this after the hur report came out? watch. >> in his description, you are a well-meaning elder did i man with a poor memory. >> i'm well-meaning and i'm elderly man and i know what the hell i'm doing. i'm president, and i put this country back on its feet. i don't need his recommendation. >> peter: how bad is your memory and can you continue as president? >> my memory is so bad i let you speak my memory is fine. came back and took a question el-sisi was president of mexico is it clear that robert hur was right? >> hur was right. i think a lot of people owe him an apology. what i will also tell you the

months and win this election. >> brian: saying all the right things. surrogates running to president biden's aid. simultaneously reminding democrats what normal functioning politicians look like, regardless of their policy. here is the reaction to kamala. she has great appeal. that is was the kind of thing people about were hoping from president biden. she delivered it. her lure went up so much higher, at this point she is the on the ticket. she is the person who can reassure folks. >> what is she doing? joining us now to react is jillian epstein. former democratic chief counsel. house judiciary committee. disiewnk democrats would be better served going with kamala or gavin newsom at this point. i know you wrote about being very unsettled that joe biden is running for mother four years: are they better choices right

now? >> well, kamala is very, very unpopular and she has had the stage many times. and she has not done particularly well. last night might have been a good night. that's a pretty low bar making a decision about a nominee. i think gavin newsom has appealed to some voters but to me and to a lot of others. he is superficial and light weight. did he poorly against desantis. better would be josh shapiro. things for school choice. denounced the pro-hamas protesters on college campuses. the party has two problems right now. one is 70 or 80% of voters think that biden should not be running for president for the reasons everyone saw last night. the fact that it is a surprise to the elites, is what the surprise is. because they are so disconnected from where sort of the every day common sense voter is so that's one problem.

the second problem is you and i have discussed, brian, pat that's right has been captured by a very ideologically extreme left. that is completely intolerant of dissent: intolerance led to the group think that led to the gaslighting by democratic party officials in the mainstream media that biden was up for the job. it's the same gaslighting where the party does not recognize that it has moved way to the left on issues like crime and immigration. and a whole host of other issues. critical race and critical gender theory. so, the party not only needs a new candidate in my opinion. it needs to move to the political center and all the polling has showed that it would be great for the country. if you had somebody more to the center or making his own decisions. make his own decisions. many democrats are running to president biden's defense. here's an example. >> the president might have lost the debate on style but he won it on facts. he do won it on decency. >> find all this talk and it this panic in the democratic

party to be so unproductive. >> joe biden had a raspy throat last night. we all heard that who cares? >> brian: exactly it was a raspy throat. in case you are wondering, right now in california. 44% approval rating. approval rating. >> there is nobody on the surface that has the national profile to maybe take on someone donald trump. it looks like the democrats might be in trouble right now. and plus, if joe doesn't step aside. he has got, you know, he is behind the wheel. it's up to him to pull over. >> denialism is not a strategy. those folks people you just showed seem to cling to it. going to be difficult to get away from kamala harris. because of dei ideology issues, although i don't think she is the best interest. democrats in the mainstream media waking up and realize this

sort of gaslight on this issue. go down the line as we have in the past, brian. i tell democrats all the time they ought to listen to fox news because it would be early warning system on a whole host of issues. not just the biden issue but all the political issues. >> brian: democrat concerned about the country and that's where we start why you feel so comfortable here. thank you so much julian epstein. have a fantastic weekend. panicked democrats say it's time for joe to go. but, can they actually do it?
